Battle Royale updates include improvements to gameplay, weapons, audio, performance, UI, and spectating, while the Save The World mode will see updates to gameplay, missions, and more. Another key feature introduced for Fortnite is the addition of Xbox-exclusive characters: Commando Renegade (Soldier), Guardian Knox (Constructor), Jade Assassin Sarah (Ninja), and Trailblazer Jess (Outlander). These characters follow PlayStation-exclusive characters that launched this past summer.

Alongside the patch notes, Epic Games also addressed future patches for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. For Xbox, this update will be about 10GB but includes a feature that will reduce the size of Xbox patches going forward. For PlayStation, this particular patch appears to be “hanging” for some players. For this issue, Epic Games stated, “Our investigation tells us that the download is NOT hanging, but the process is taking longer than it should to complete. In the meantime, please continue to let the download and install process complete naturally. We are partnering with SIE to address this issue as quickly as possible.”
The fixes contained within this patch may benefit the new limited-time mode. Hopefully, this new mode will not have as many cheaters as the Battle Royale did since Epic Games began suing cheaters. With updated features and a (potentially) lower cheater ratio, this new mode may be highly appreciated by players.
Patch 1.10 for Fortnite releases soon, and the benefits may be enjoyed by most fans. While it seems unlikely that the new limited-time mode will be as popular as the Battle Royale mode at launch, players will most likely appreciate the continued development of the game. Gamers should hopefully hear a lot more about the mode and the game in general at tonight’s Games Awards (5:30 PT/ 7:30 CT).
