In Wednesday morning’s 9.10 Content Update patch notes, we found out about the introduction of a new gun: the Burst SMG. But as one gun enters, another leaves. The Suppressed Submachine Gun has been vaulted (it came in Common, Uncommon, Rare).

But instead of mourning the loss of one SMG, let’s take a look at what the new gun has to offer.

Other 9.10 Patch Notes

In addition to the weapons, there were a few other notable changes from this Content Update. Unfortunately for some, there were no map changes and the Drum Gun is still in the game. But if you like the different limited modes, then you’ll be excited about the following news.

Limited Time Mode Rotation

Solid Gold Duos

Gameplay featuring nothing but Legendary weapons. This mode has been used in the past.

Unvaulted Squads

Close Encounters Squads

Another familiar mode. Epic Games defines this as “Close quarters combat with Shotguns & Jetpacks!”

Team Rumble

Popular Fortnite streamer Tfue recently complained about the game’s new hot spots feature, calling them “broken.” So Epic Games saw the complaints and made a change adding the game is, “now spawning 4 hot spots each match, to ensure that there is at least one on each side more often. This is a temporary fix until we can set up functionality to force the same number on each side in big team modes.”
