Nearly two years ago, a known Fortnite leaker found a back bling texture with the codename “FrenchFry.” After decrypting this file, it showed a Family Guy scene in which Peter Griffin held his knee in pain before engaging in a fight with the notorious giant chicken. This led fans to believe that Peter or other Family Guy characters could be joining the Fortnite skins roster, even though it would certainly be a strange addition to the game.

Now it seems that a Family Guy skin might actually be real and coming to the Item Shop pretty soon. The same leaker found a new cosmetic item in the files with an ID that resembled the one in previous leaks. It was titled “CID_TBD_Athena_Commando_M_FrenchFry,” indicating that a male skin related to the FrenchFry code name has been created. It’s very likely that if any Family Guy character joins Fortnite as a new licensed crossover skin, it’ll be Peter Griffin.

Many fans don’t believe this could ever be a real collab. It might be Epic Games putting on a show to troll those that look into leaks and rumors. However, leaks have been confirmed more than once before. A few months ago, a similar rumor went around after a leak suggested that Family Guy and Doom skins could be in the works. The Doom Slayer skin was just recently released as part of the Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass, so perhaps a Peter Griffin skin wouldn’t be an entirely unreasonable addition.

This is just one of the various leaks that data miners have dug up from the game files. Not too long ago, a leak suggested that a Fortnite and the Kid LAROI collaboration might be happening soon. Although there hasn’t been any confirmation from Epic Games, it seems like a plausible idea as there haven’t been any in-game concerts in a while now. If it ends up being real, it’s very likely that the event will feature limited-time quests that grant XP as well as Icon Series skins and emotes.

Fortnite is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
