When comets began appearing in the sky above Fortnite’s map, and then subsequently falling and crashing into various locations, speculation over Season 4’s potential theme quickly began to circulate around the web. Theories ranged from alien invasion to the return of dinosaurs. Naturally, when Season 4 came around and introduced superheroes, players started looking for ways to connect the cosmic phenomena from Season 3 to the new superhero theme.

Just as the dust was beginning to settle, Twitter account DieBuddies is throwing a massive monkey wrench into the latest predictions, leaking a loading screen that shows Fortnite’s superhero characters relaxing on a movie set. To be fair, Fortnite has alluded to this larger truth via movie sets and cameras appearing across the map, most prominently in Moisty Mire. Still, it’s an intriguing revelation, to say the least.

Of course, none of this does anything to explain the comets and meteors from Season 3, nor does it help to determine what players can expect come Season 5. Thankfully, Epic Games has the countdown for Season 4’s battle pass ending on July 9, giving theorists plenty of time to piece together the puzzle before next season.

In the meantime, patch 4.3 just arrived and is available for download, bringing with it the notorious shopping cart item, a host of quality-of-life improvements, and other new features. Notably, the appropriately coined Shopping Cart update reintroduced two Limited Time Modes: Blitz V2 and Teams of 20 V2. Both modes are designed for time-conscious Fortnite players looking for less of a time commitment.

Those looking for fresh new Fortnite content can also look forward to new skins and cosmetics themed around the NBA Finals, according to another recent datamine by DieBuddies.

Fortnite Early Access is available now for iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
