Weekly challenges usually focus on certain new elements in the game, typically encouraging the use of new, unvaulted items. This week is no exception, as one challenge tasks players with using the returning Heavy Sniper Rifle to deal some damage to enemy vehicles. This challenge cannot be completed with any other Sniper, such as the Hunter’s Bolt Action, and finding a Heavy Sniper can be a challenge in itself. This guide will show players how to best acquire a Heavy Sniper Rifle to complete the quest.

Where to Find a Heavy Sniper Rifle in Fortnite
Heavy Sniper Rifles are weapons of Blue rarity and above, meaning they can rarely be found as floor loot; players’ best chance of finding them lies in chests, supply crates, and occasionally in fishing spots. There is, unfortunately, no easy way to find a Heavy Sniper Rifle, and the all-too-common appearance of Anvil Rocket Launchers in chests can make finding them even harder.
The best way to find one is to search plenty of chests in a short period of time, and the best way to do that is by using a tank.
IO Titan Tanks are a new addition to Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2, and they allow players to flatten land with maximum efficiency. By driving through buildings and quickly destroying their foundations, players will see loot fall from the heavens as the building (and all the chests within it) are destroyed.
One location Loopers can attempt this strategy at is Tilted Towers. Here, players can find plenty of buildings to knock down, as well as a tank piloted by some IO Guards.
To take the tank for themselves, players must aim for the gunner on top and shoot at the bronze panel on the tank’s front to expose the driver; this way, players can commandeer the vehicle without destroying it.
Tilted Towers is quite a busy location and many players often rush to the IO Airship there for its high ground and centralized location. Therefore, players will fare better in teams, taking down any opponents attempting to steal the tank. Sometimes, opponents may hijack the gun on top to quickly destroy the vehicle; when this happens, exit fast and start shooting at the gunner. With luck, they’ll realize all too late.
After ridding the IO bots and any pesky players, repair any damage to the tank with a Repair Torch, found in the red toolboxes scattered around the map. Now, players can drive through the towers’ bases and hoover up all the loot that remains. Hopefully, one chest will have dropped a Heavy Sniper Rifle.
Once players have Chapter 3, Season 2’s unvaulted weapon, they will need to find an enemy piloted vehicle and deal 600 damage to it. Cars typically have 800 health and over, and the Blue Heavy Sniper Rifle is capable of 600 damage in one shot.
Being quick is the key, as enemies are likely to exit a vehicle that has sustained such immense damage. Players may consider upgrading their Sniper to Purple or Gold to get in that extra damage, as sometimes the challenge may only be partially complete after 1 shot.
Obviously, the easiest way to grab this achievement is by shooting a bot-driven tank, though these are spread across The Island and make for popular targets. Whatever the choice, one or two shots to an enemy vehicle should complete the challenge and earn players a crisp 20K XP.
Fortnite is currently available for Android, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
