While slowly appearing over time around the Fortnite Battle Royale map, Rift Zones are essentially a bubble that envelops certain areas. By walking through them, players enter a unique area of the map typically with unique game mechanics to go along with the sudden change. Not only that, the player’s outfit automatically changes to match the Rift Zone theme as well. So far, two Rift Zones have appeared on Battle Island, typically telegraphed by beacons that appear over areas that are going to be impacted.

Week 3 of the Worlds Collide Battle Royale challenges tasks players with visiting a Rift Zone, without much more direction to go on. Thankfully, this challenge isn’t very hard once players know where to go. Finishing the week 3 challenge is as simple as going into a zone, players can even immediately back out and the credit will still be given. As for the locations to find, here are both places that satisfy the challenge requirement for this week:

Neo Titled

The first Rift Zone to appear changed the area of Neo Titled to Tilted Town, an area that looks like it was pulled from a 19th century American West town. Crossing over gives the player a Duster style coat, weapons like the shotgun and six shooter are more plentiful, and the visuals add a sepia filter to make the zone look more like the Old West. As for unique mechanics, players can no longer build or break structures while inside Titled Town, ultimately turning the gameplay within zone into more of a traditional shooter.

Mega Mall

The second rift zone to arrive in the game set down over the Mega Mall, which has now reverted back to its original name, Retail Row. Upon entering the zone, players will find the town to now be infested with the Husks that are the main enemy in the game’s campaign mode, Save the World. It’s a great location for farming loot, which means that Retail Row has become a hot spot for activity, so for people just looking to complete the challenge this week, Tilted Town may be the slightly safer location.

Pandora

Epic Games and Gearbox Software teamed up to create a new Borderlands inspired crossover event. To find the Pandora Rift Zone, players should head to the southeast section of the map int he desert region near Paradise Palms. Upon entering this zone, the game will take on a lightly cel-shaded style reminiscent of the Borderlands games and when not taking damage, players will regenerate shields. Inside here, players can loot coins as well.

The amount of Rift Zones seems to be increasing about every two weeks or so. At Season X launch, there were none on the map and is now up to two following the most recent patch. If the beacons are to be trusted, it would appear that the soccer field that sits to the west of Neo Tilted is the next map location to be altered by a Rift Zone in some way. For now, the beacon and its panel remain without power indicating that the change isn’t likely coming yet. If the current cycle is any indication, the rift zone could appear in the next couple of weeks.

Fortnite is available now in early access on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
