Fortnite Chapter 3’s island debuted a “wintry biome,” as well as tropics and a desert with several unique locations and landmarks to traverse. The island also presents new weapons, pastimes such as camping in a pitched tent, and a new Victory Crown feature that paint a target on successful players’ heads in subsequent matches. But with a new Chapter also comes a slate of new and iconic characters from Fortnite’s iconic crossovers that fans will be able to play as, all of which were revealed in a new character trailer....

Fortnite’s Coliseum leak comes from prominent dataminer Mang0e, who says that they discovered something in the 15.10 patch released mid-December. Among the files, but not currently used in-game, is a variant for the Coliseum’s fighting grounds. The change replaces the sands of the Coliseum with water instead, instead featuring two different longboats and different lengths of docks arranged between them. The alternative Coliseum would offer a much more dynamics setting for Fortnite players to battle....

Just like the first week of Deadpool challenges in Fortnite, week 2 will consist of two challenges. The first challenge is to find Deadpool’s milk carton, which will likely be hidden somewhere in the new interactive HQ. It’s possible that it will even be in Deadpool’s hideout, which is where players had to find the foul-mouthed character’s letter to Epic Games in week 1. However, we can’t rule out the possibility that the milk carton will be located somewhere on the battle royale map itself....

During Sweeney’s talk at GDC 2018’s State of Unreal session, the Epic Games CEO stated that the ability to have cross-play between every single platform for Fortnite and any other multiplayer title would be “one of the best things to ever happen to the console industry.” He went on to refer to Metcalfe’s Law, which states that the value of any connected experience for a specific user is directly proportional to the number of people they can connect to in the real world, with Sweeney positing that Sony allowing PlayStation owners to play with Xbox fans is “the next logical step”....

As seen below in Epic Games’ developer update video for Fortnite Battle Royale, the first subject discussed is the concept of Storm damage and how it will soon affect player structures after Update 5.4.0 is applied. The basic notion is that the edge of the Storm will dish out damage to player structures during the final phases of a match in order to provide fans with “a little more dynamic gameplay”....

A new diagram put together by Fortnite Battle Royale players aims to help people out on that front. The diagram reveals several key distances that could help players put together a winning strategy, or, at the very least, it could help them to stay out of danger and avoid their opponents. The first bit of data discovered by the players is that each map square in Fortnite Battle Royale is 250 square meters (250 meters x 250 meters) and when traveling across a square vertically or horizontally, it will take players approximately 45 seconds if they are running at full speed....

This much has been revealed by way of Fortnite Battle Royale’s in-game news feed, with Epic teasing that players who take on the LTM will need to “get to high ground or build above the lava that’s overtaking the island”. There’s no telling exactly how the mode will work, but the description makes it sound as if lava will be taking the place of Fortnite’s ever-encroaching storm circle in the LTM....

The Twitter account fittingly called Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks has dug into the game’s files and turned up a clue in the form of a string called “eventType=EventFlag.BR_S5_Oddity_Tomato_Event”. The files even include a mention of a specific date and time; August 27, 2018 and 6PM GMT (UK time). This means that the event – that is, if the datamined info is correct – will begin next Monday at 2PM EST/1PM CST/12PM MST/11AM PST....

Some Fortnite players may be wondering what a massive ice ball is doing above Polar Peak, and it seems to be tied to an upcoming “ice storm” event. As teased by noted Fortnite leaker Lucas7oshi on Twitter, it seems the ice ball is going to gradually change in the coming weeks, with the Ice King eventually doing something that will trigger a new event. Right now the running theory is that this event will be similar to the cube event from last season, which saw cube monsters invade the battle royale map....

Concerning the forthcoming event, Fortnite has seen fit to preview the limited time mode, giving players their first glimpse at how the LTM will work. The job, as the LTM is described, is to find the 4 safes dropped onto the island via supply drops., crack the safe to obtain a large jewel, and get away with the goods. Of course, carrying the jewel makes the player a target, but the first four teams to make their way to a getaway van win....
