Before players bother looking for the hidden battle star in Week 3, they need to make sure they’ve completed all of the challenges in the current Battle Pass. Doing so will in turn complete the currently available Road Trip challenges, and unlock the new loading screen. The Week 3 loading screen shows some Fortnite characters riding on golf carts, with the license plate on a cart in the background having the map coordinates J2-SW on it....
As seen in the image below from the Redditor and Fortnite Battle Royale fan known as TheGoldScrew, the in-game news feed for the hybrid construction shooter has declared that the Compact SMG is “Coming Soon!”, which will likely be with the game’s next weekly reset. As far as the new firearm’s attributes are concerned, the developer is describing the weapon as an “Epic and Legendary rarity SMG that exceles [sic] at close quarters combat....
According to Fortnite Battle Royale’s in-game news feed, the multiplayer release will be getting the Buried Treasure item “soon”, with the object coming in the form of what appears to be a treasure map that will assist players in “scour[ing] the island for hidden loot”. There’s no telling specifically how the new item will work, or exactly when it will be arriving in the game, so we will have to wait and see just what it does once it’s added....
While this theory can be somewhat far-fetched, crazier things have also happened in the popular battle royale title Fortnite. As seen in the tweet below, there appears to be an Amusement Park-like Castle in the background, with many believing that area to be Pleasant Park based on the mountains. As indicated in the tweet below, Epic Games has added a way for Fortnite fans around the planet to show other players support for their home country during World Cup 2018. To be exact, the studio has made the six different soccer-styled skins customizable by allowing fans to select any of the countries represented in the game and the number of their favorite athlete. Bear in mind, though, that these aren’t official FIFA jerseys, but just representations of the country’s colors with a tiny flag on a crest....
Some Fortnite Android players have reported significant performance problems with the game. In a post on Twitter, Epic Games said that the issues are unique to Android users with mobile devices that have 4GB of RAM. The problems are a result of players having “multiple background applications running,” which leaves the device without enough memory to play the game properly. While it sounds as though Fortnite players may be able to address the issue by closing apps in the background, Epic Games is still investigating the issue and working on a fix....
Since this is the first official teaser for Fortnite’s upcoming Avengers event, little to nothing is known about the event itself. However, the inclusion of Captain America’s shield and a hint from Epic creative director Donald Mustard telling Iron Man’s Robert Downey Jr. “See you soon!” implies a broad scope. This time around the full Avengers team could be making an appearance. Should Fortnite’s upcoming Avengers event pull in the full team, the next question worth asking is whether or not it’s an actual mode as opposed to just cosmetics....
Speaking at a Game Developer Conference panel, Epic Games Head of Publishing, Ed Zobrist, revealed a number of interesting facts regarding the development of Battle Royale for Fortnite. After starting work on it as Save the World launched in July, it only took the developers a total of two months to bring the mode to live and put it in the hands of players. Considering the player versus player nature of the mode, the Fortnite team enlisted the help of the arena shooter experts on the Unreal Tournament team to do the heavy lifting....
For those unaware, Fortnite previously tested glider redeploy in all game modes and it was pretty divisive. While some were fine with the feature, many also thought it gave players too much mobility and resulted in uneven gameplay. Now, Epic Games has decided to balance this feature by turning it into an in-game item that can be found alongside other loot, “in a form that can be balanced and iterated upon....
The season known as Vibin’ also sees a new biome within the island called Reality Falls where a massive forest of mushrooms have spouted up around the massive Reality Tree. While players can certainly bounce on the huge mushrooms, search for loot in the caverns, or use the geysers to gain some extra height, Epic Games has teased that the Reality Tree will be evolving over the season and changing other parts of the island in the process....
Epic gave no indication as to when the Driftboard will be coming to the game now, though it is likely to be sooner rather than later. While the vehicle’s release has been pushed back, that’s not to say the entire 7.10 update has been delayed. In fact, it is still set to go live, bringing with it numerous quality of life improvements for the battle royale game. This seems to be exciting the Fortnite fan base, because many are taking it as indication that Epic Games is listening to them....
After getting some jars and blue slime, a Reddit user called NachoCheeseCR decided to create replicas of the Shield Potions from Fortnite. The creator made replicas of both Small Shield Potions as well as the regular-sized version. Some of the most pivotal items in the game, Shield Potions often mean the difference between winning and losing a fight, as the small ones provide up to 25 shield, while the large variety can give players up to 50 shield....
Speaking in an interview, Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, stated that Apex Legends hasn’t cut into the Fortnite player base. Rather, Sweeny asserts that Apex Legends has invigorated fans of shooter games who wouldn’t be drawn to Fortnite’s cartoonish style, allowing the two games to co-exist peacefully. Sweeny went on to compliment Apex Legends, stating that it was “awesome to see other games picking up on battle royale, adding their unique spin, and advancing the state of the industry....
While the core Fortnite experience requires players to purchase a Founder’s Pack, Battle Royale is a completely free to download experience for all players. Pitting 100 players against one another to see who can survive to the very end, Battle Royale now features new playlists that support Down But Not Out gameplay, and groups of two to four player squads. Supply Drops also have a chance to fall from the sky during a match, offering players an opportunity to score a new weapon such as the Zapotron, and other valuable items to help give players a slight advantage over others as well....
Regular Fortnite leaker FortTory uncovered a new point of interest and in-game model of a crashed spaceship which, while not yet live, were added in the most recent patch and dubbed as the Crash Site. It’s supposed to be placed near Craggy Cliffs but the location is currently still covered in water, implying that it will appear once the water level has lowered enough. With Season 3 still in its early days, though, it’s safe to assume that we may see more weapons be included in the future at some point. In fact, one leaker, named HYPEX, believes they’ve already found one in Fortnite’s files, and it sounds like an absolute doozy of a weapon. When Fortnite Season 3 began in mid-June, players were introduced to a waterlogged map with many locations submerged under the waves. This has led to several water-themed challenges, including a challenge to claim Aquaman’s legendary Trident. But water levels have fallen with each update, revealing more of the map little by little. The trend continues in the July 24 update, with locations such as Weeping Woods and Sweaty Sands rising out of the water....
At the end of a recent match, BullNizzle and his team had one opponent left to kill in order to win. BullNizzle asked his teammate to fire a rocket at him so he could ride it to get some distance and put himself in a better position to battle it out with his opponent - a fairly common tactic used in Fortnite. However, BullNizzle decided to take things a step further, and attempted to quickscope his opponent with a sniper rifle while riding on the rocket....
