As it so happens, Epic Games recently teased in Fortnite’s in-game news feed that it plans to bring a new weapon into the title called a “Drum Gun”. As seen in the image below from the Redditor known as MangoYTMango, the description of the firearm notes that it will contain a “high capacity drum magazine” alongside a “quick rate of fire”. These features will likely see it become a highly coveted piece of equipment to have on the battlefield among players....
As part of the Lightning & Thunderstorms gear set, players who visit the Fortnite in-game store can pick up the Dark Bomber character skin, which appears to be the evil/corrupted version of the Brite Bomber skin. With glowing purple eyes, the skin also comes with glowing runes across her body as well as a new chest armor design that looks to be some sort of llama style dragon. The better news on this skin is its price, as it’s listed as a rare skin which puts the price at only 1,200 V-bucks, which is quite a deal when compared to some of the other unique skins available in the game....
Now that Fortnite players are able to log in, they’ve made several discoveries. While searching around the map, new Upgrade Benches have been found littering the island. They’re pretty easy to spot; they’re tables with a spinning tool belt hovering at the top. Once one is located, players can upgrade a weapon using building materials. The concept was posted by Reddit user Jaguar115 in the form of an imagined set-up menu sporting an array of customization options including max health, max shield, gravity strength, and permitted weapons. Also in the proposed settings is an option for toggling weather; Fortnite players would be able to choose between a default, snow, and thunder mode. Perhaps most important of all to the mock-up is the option to add the player’s desired number of bots to the game....
While digging through the latest Fortnite game files, FNBRLeaks found a week 5 entry that outlines a quest objective called, “Use a jetpack.” Additionally, the files hint at a mode focused specifically on jetpacks and shotguns called “Close Encounters.” Given that information, it’s possible that the jetpacks will be unique to the Close Encounters mode and won’t be a part of the traditional Fortnite Battle Royale experience. Like Thanos in the Infinity Gauntlet mode, this could be a chance for Epic Games to give players something different to experience, without upsetting the balance in the main game....

On YouTube, Fortnite content creator JhbTeam posted a video called Fortnite: The Arcade Game which imagines the multiplayer shooter as a totally retro, arcade-style platformer. Water has been a feature in Fortnite for a few seasons now, with the introduction of fish in Chapter 2. One of the latest skins brought into Fortnite came from DC Comics’ The Suicide Squad film, to coincide with the launch of the movie which was just released on August 6. This selectable skin featured the character Bloodsport, who is an assassin and adversary of Superman. Since the guided rocket launcher hit Fortnite last month, fans have posed concerns that the rocket makes endgame encounters too easy, as players can simply guide the rocket from a safe location to win the match.
